Welcome to Adobe Campaign. In this video, you will learn how to create a targeting workflow in Adobe Campaign. Adobe Campaign uses workflows to carry out targeting campaigns, build campaigns or execute Adobe Campaign technical processes. In this video we will focus on targeting workflows. Targeting workflows allow you to build several delivery targets. We’re going to create a workflow that targets recipients whose birthday is today and then make this a recurring workflow. From the Adobe Campaign homepage, click Campaigns. Then, in the Create category, click More to access targeting workflows. Select Targeting workflows. In the new window displayed on-screen, choose a template.
Then, name your workflow and add a description to your workflow. Click Save.
The Workflow tab opens. Drag and drop a Query activity into your workflow.
Double click the activity to open it. We’re going to create a query that targets recipients whose birthday is today. In the new window displayed on the screen, click the Edit query option. Select the Filtering conditions option. Click Next. In the Expression field, click the Edit expression button. Then click the Advanced selection button in order to use advanced parameters to target data. Select Edit the formula using an expression option to create a specific expression for the date of birth of the recipient. Click Next. In the List of functions, click Date. Select the function Day. Then, in the available fields, select Birth date.
Click Finish. In the Value field, click the Edit expression button to enter the specific Expression about the current day. Click Date in the List of functions. Then, Day. Select GetDate to complete the expression and click Finish. Add a new expression. In the Expression field, click the Edit expression button.
Click Advanced selection, then Edit the formula using an expression option to create the expression about the month of birth. Click Next. Click Date in the List of functions then Month. Select Birth date.
Click Finish. In the Value field, select the Edit expression option to specify the month of the current date.
Click Date in the List of functions, then Month and GetDate. Click Finish. Edit the Query label and click Finish, then Ok.
To make your workflow recurring, add a Scheduler activity from the Flow Control category.
Drag and drop it before your query. Make sure the link is well-established between the two activities.
Open the Scheduler and click the Change button to configure it. We’re going to schedule this workflow to occur every day at midnight. Choose the Daily option. Click Next. Select a start time if needed, or let the Scheduler start at midnight. Then click Next. Define the validity period of the schedule, or specify how many times it will be executed.
Then click Next. Check the Summary to see if the activity is well-configured, then click Finish. The Execution schedule is updated. Click Ok to validate. You can add a List update activity after your query to create a specific list for recipients whose birthday matches the current date. To do so, select List update in the Targeting tab. Double click the List update icon. Select Specified explicitly if you want to use an existing list. Then, add a Label. Click Ok. Click Save.
Your workflow is now ready. Click the Start icon to launch it. You now know how to create a targeting workflow in Adobe Campaign. Thanks for watching. - -
