Now, we have successfully created one segment from the movie file. A user can create more segments by simply clicking on the Play icon and click on the Add segment option, when you want to create the next segment.
Similarly, I am going to add two more segments to this particular video.
For each of the segments that we created from the movie file, founded others can associate an assets from a down folder or can also associate a product in each segment. Let’s go ahead and select assets to be associated with this particular movie file. By clicking on the Select assets option and select the images or assets from the down folder.
Once you’ve selected the assets that you would like to associate with the video, click on the check icon to save or add these assets to the movie file.
So, on the right side you can see the list of assets that we selected in the previous draft that is now associated with the movie file.
As I mentioned earlier, for each of the segments that we created in the previous step, we can also associate an asset or a product with each segment. Let’s click on the first segment and select the assets that we would like to be added to segment one. Let’s select the running shoes and jogging pants, for segment one. Click on the second segment and let’s select the the sweaters and the white t-shirt, for segment two. Click on segment three. Let’s select the media player for segment three. As of now, we have successfully created segments from a movie file. We also added assets to a movie file and we also associated each of those assets with a specific segment, in the movie file.
Let’s go ahead and preview the movie file now. Click on the Preview option and let’s click play. For Segment one, you can see the running shoes and the jogging pants on the right side You can click on the product to view the products. For segment two you can see the sweaters and the white t-shirt and for segment three, you can actually see the media player.
For each of these products on the right hand side, you can either have a quick view of the product or you can also have an hyperlink of the product. So when a user is watching the video, if he wants to get more details about the sweater or the t-shirt, he can simply click on the product to get more details about the product.
Let’s go ahead and close this preview. All these features we saw in the previous steps are a release as far of 6.2. Now, I would like to introduce you to the AEM 6.3 video enhancements. When authoring interactive videos fragment others might have to split their videos into smaller segments to associate called to Action. Sometimes it can be difficult to precisely find the segments to have the proper start and end points. With AEM 6.3, users have an option to combine two segments into one segment, or they also have an option to split one segment into two segments. In this section of the video, I’m actually going to split the segment number one into two separate segments. In order to do that, you simply need to click on segment number one and select the split segment option. What it does is, it actually divides the segment into two equal portions. Now, segment one is further divided into two segments. Segment one A and segment one B. Now Segment one which was 6 seconds initially, is divided into two segments of equal time frame. The new Segment one actually has 3 seconds duration and Segment two has 3 seconds duration, from the 3rd second to the 6th second. But if you notice here, segment one has actually two products associated with it, and Segment two does not have any product associated with that. I can simply click on the second product and delete the Association of the second product with segment one, and I can associate and delete a product with segment two by simply clicking on Segment two and adding the jogging pants to this particular segment.
Now we have Segment one, which has the running shoes and Segment two, which has the jogging pants. Now we just experienced how a fragment other can split one segment into two segments. Likewise, a fragment other, also has the power to combine two segments into one segment. Let’s go ahead and preview all your changes. If you notice the difference, segment one initially had two products associated with it. After splitting segment one into two separate segments, now we only have one product associated with segment one.
This is Segment two.
Segment three.
Let’s exit the preview mode and go back to editing mode.
Now we just experienced how we can split a large segment into two separate segments of equal duration. In 6.3 fragment orders also have an option to combine two segments into one larger segment. In order to combine two segments into a larger segment, click on the first segment and select the second segment that you would like to combine and click on Merge segment. So now, the first two segments, segment one and segment two are combined together to become a larger segment, which has a duration of six seconds. Initially, each segment had a duration of three seconds. Now it has been combined together to become six seconds. Let’s go and preview this now.
So if you notice the changes. Now segment one has two products associated with it, a running shoes as well as jogging pants. When we combine or merge two separate segments into one larger segments, assets associated with each separate segment is combined now, to become assets of a larger segment.
